Where is my data stored?

Data is stored in an encrypted (non-human readable) form on a physically secured server in a Tier 3 data centre in Milton Keynes. The data centre is run and administered by Webfusion UK.

Is the system backed up?

The Ostix system is backed up every day to a different physical server, also housed in the UK. The backup data is held in an encrypted, non-human readable form.

I've forgotten my login details

If you have forgotten your login details, don't panic. Simply click here and fill in your email address. If you have changed your email address so this doesn't work, please call our support team.

What do I do if I can't understand how to do something?

If you are well and truly stuck and cannot figure out how to do something on the system, please give our support team a call on 0800 520 2345.

Does the system do all my finance stuff?

No, the system deals purely with operational data. That said, you can record all costs and expenditures, but it won't put them in to cost centres for you, this is what everyone seems to use Sage for, so we didn't think it was worth duplicating their work.

Can I request a change?

If there is something that you would like the system to do, that it doesn't do at the moment, scroll on down this page, and request it!

Does the system work on tablets like iPads?

Yes, the Ostix system works on virtually all tablets. We have tested it extensively on iPads and are happy to report that it works perfectly on them!

Can I access the system from my mobile phone?

You can, and it will automatically switch to the fully featured mobile version of the Ostix web app.

How many patients or appointments can I record?

You can record as many patients and customers as you like, there is a theoretical limit of around 100,000 of each in a 12-month period, so if you enter more than that expect a phone call from us querying just how large an area your single organisation is covering!

Who has written the system?

The system has been written by us, Ostix Limited, by programmers on hire from ISArc Limited. ISArc is a leading supplier of secure web-based information management systems. ISArc writes systems under a software-as-a-service (SaaS) model, so that there are no up-front costs, just a monthly or annual subscription for the service.

Is there a technical specification for the system?

Yes, there is a full technical specification, however it would be a security risk to specify it here. If you need this, please email our support team - support@ostix.co.uk.

Arrange a visit

We can come and visit you and spend 4 hours walking you through the whole system, problem solve and usually fix other IT issues while we are there.
